Slinde Nelson attorneys Bill Du Val and Jason Hirshon will be presenting a seminar to fellow lawyers, legal practitioners, and other members of the Oregon legal community on Thursday, April 7th, 2011.

Their talk, “Employment Agreements: Employment Contracts, Employee Handbooks and Non-Competition Agreements”, is the second of a nine part series entitled, “The Fundamentals of Employment Law”, sponsored by the Multnomah Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section.

Bill Du Val brings his many years of experience and expertise advising businesses of all sizes, from start-ups to international corporations. He’s advised principals and managers on employment agreements in a number of contexts, and worked in all facets of business law, including drafting employement agreements, hiring employees, drafting employee handbooks, and drafting non-competition and non-solicitation agreements. After founding Du Val Business Law in 2001 and growing it to a robust transactional practice, he joined Slinde Nelson in 2010 as head of the Transactional Team.

Jason Hirshon joined Slinde Nelson as a Partner in 2009. He has extensive experience in business and commercial litigation, and regularly advises business owners and employees on employment litigation matters.

Slinde Nelson attorney Kevin Parks, a member of the organizing MBA YLS Professional Development and Education Committeee, will be introducing the speakers.

The presentation begins at noon in the Standard Insurance Auditorium, 900 SW Fifth Ave., Portland. Tickets cost $20 for members of the MBA, $30 for non-members, and attendance includes 1 hour of MCLE credit.
