Celebrating My Family on Father’s Day

On Behalf of | Jun 18, 2011 | Uncategorized

Today is only my second Father’s Day, and I’m still trying to figure out how this is all supposed to work.

So far as I can tell, Father’s Day is actually more about my daughter and my wife than it is about me. Like a sports star after a big win, I have to give credit where credit is due, and all the credit on this day (and every day) goes to them.

No amount of success in the courtroom, no number of satisfied clients, can ever compare to the satisfaction, pride and love I feel as a father.

My daughter Lucy is my grounding anchor and my life’s responsibility, one I approach with a deliberate love and care that I honestly never knew I had in me.

Today also reminds me how lucky I am to have a partner like my wife, Sarah. Working together to raise our daughter strengthens the connection between us, with a bond we never could have achieved on our own. Sarah’s my teammate, and an even better mother than she is a wife, though she’s incredible at both.

Without her, Father’s Day wouldn’t be the same, and I’m grateful to her for her love, care, and support, both on this day and every other.

Father’s Day means all of these things to me, and I’m happy to be able to share it with such an incredible family.

Also, I look forward to a nice, new tie.
