For Wyatt and Emerson

On Behalf of | Jun 18, 2011 | Uncategorized

Upon being asked to contribute a few words about Father’s Day, I quickly replied that I’d have some thoughts in no time.

As it turns out, what I thought would be a quick recitation eventually took me the better part of an entire afternoon.

As many who know me will attest, it is quite rare that I find myself at a loss for words. Yet when contemplating the importance of family and fatherhood, I quietly sat and reflected on my own family, and my children, in particular.

Unfortunately, the only two people that can determine whether I should be celebrated on Father’s Day (my son Wyatt and daughter Emerson) can’t yet speak in full sentences.

But I digress.

Boohbas and Emmers, your daddy loves you more than you will ever know. I will spend the rest of my life teaching you what I was not taught, showing you what I have not seen, and helping you succeed where I have failed. I promise that I will always hold my job as your father above any other, and work tirelessly to make you proud to have me as a father.
